Description

Designed to be used with UltraLITE HUB full duplex wireless intercoms, this Eartec Max4G Headset is dual-eared and features a 4-pin XLR male connection point. Its headband is fully adjustable and its leatherette earpad fully encompasses the ear, thus providing a firm yet pleasant fit. Its on-board dynamic microphone sits at the end of a boom arm which can swivel 270°. Also, rotating the microphone into a fully upright position-parallel to the headset's headband-automatically mutes the microphone, ensuring a more convenient way to kill the signal to the mic rather than fumbling for a button on a beltpack. Lightweight at 6.0 oz, this headset sports a 3' cable. Box Contains Eartec Max 4G Double Headset with 4-Pin XLR Male Connector Limited 6-Month Warranty

This is a well-thought-out headset that works just as you'd expect from a unit costing much more. It's comfortable and lightweight, but doesn't feel cheap. That's a good balance. Time will tell how well the ear pads hold up. Those are, in my experience, the weak point in headsets that see a fair amount of use. Here's what keeps this from being a 5 star review. That logo. Ugh. It's a giant, ostentatious mess of white and orange covering the entire face of the earpiece that just jumps out and screams "hey look at me, I'm a distraction." When you're working in an environment where your camera ops are supposed to be as inconspicuous as possible, this is just a really weird choice. And it looks cheap. I've never seen another headset manufacturer go with this. Even when the logos are large, they're typically a more muted color pallet. It's bizarre to me that Eartec would rather have their logos completely covered with gaff tape rather than choose something more tasteful. So am I really taking off 2 stars because of the logo? Yes. Yes I am. It's that bad. The rest of the headset is a dream. Just order a roll of gaff tape while you're at it. If Eartec fixes the logo then I'd make this my go-to unit for future purchases. Meantime... still looking for the perfect headset.
